Question for the gym folks

I use my Storm (waiting on my Incredible to ship) in the gym to listen to music/podcasts, etc. I always finish my workouts with 10 to 20 minutes in the sauna (dry, not steam). After a session in the sauna my storm will lock up and I will have to pull the battery. i have tried wrapping it in a towel and all kinds of stuff to keep this from happening but nothing seams to help. Anyone use their Incredible at the gym, and more specifically in a dry sauna (I know this is probably not the best thing for any electronic device but it is too boring in there to not have some tunes). Thanks.

Have you tried a plastic bag? you know it is probably the heat getting to the device, so anyway to keep the heat off should do you good with any device...within reason of course...

I use mine while running but would never recommend taking it into any type of sauna. Excess heat is never good.

yea, the phone is already running hot because of the tight casing.

my recommendation is to buy some cheapo mp3 player and take that into the sauna, then if it breaks, you're only out like $20.

How would he listen to his music though? OP, a dry sauna is definitely not the place you want to bring your phone, as there was a reason why your BB was locking up. What about some magazines or newspapers to read while in there?

Ouch! I feel for your poor phone! I use my phone every day at the gym, but I would be too afraid to take it in a sauna. I agree that you should get an older gen ipod off eBay and use that.

I appreciate the feedback. I have thought about using my iPod instead of my phone, the only problem is I am a lazy iPod owner and I NEVER update the songs on it. Most of the time I use Pandora or slacker on my phone so I don't have to keep my iPod up to date.

A side note. I have my tour on me as well as my storm and the tour never hiccups in the slightest after a sauna session.

Thanks again,
Aaron

Steam = Water
Heat+Moist Electronics = dead phone or non functional phone

Yea, not a good idea.

OP - yeah I wouldn't recommend taking any phone into a sauna. The task of having to update your iPod would be worth it in my opinion, rather than being out of a brand new phone.
