I don't know why I can't find this answer anywhere but I figured I would ask...

If I do end up rooting this now that BurritoRoot3 seems to be working much better than 2 did, and I install the market. Am I forced to install a different launcher? I will no longer be able to use the stock kindle interface?

Going along with that, my question is-

I don't have an android phone. If I root will I be able to download from the android market without an android phone? Currently I can't download because I don't have an android phone associated with my account.

you can have root and still have the stock launcher if you wish. You will gain superuser access, android market, gapps etc. but you will lose amazon prime streaming while rooted unless you use ota rootkeeper to temporary unroot so you can stream.

You don't have to have an android phone to download from the market. Just make sure you have a google account setup and the kindle fire will show up as it's own device.

aahhhh... so the fire then acts as the android device for downloading.

Thanks! Can't wait to root now!

Plain and simple... the kindle fire is the bomb rooted. You truly beg a real android tab experience if that's what you want.

I rooted my Fire last night and want to download the Market from somewhere different than I went to (multiple download sites at one location) and the app I downloaded keeps crashing. Are there multiple sites I can go to download the app? Also, can't remember where I saw this but can't I now set up the Fire like my Thrive Tablet? The home screen that is. Is there something specific I need to download to achieve this?
