Question for Verizon customers

I might switch my line to Verizon - found a Note 5 available in Stock at a local Target. Can Verizon customers pay a little extra towards their phone balance when they choose, to pay it off sooner than 24 months? Online Verizon rep said yes but I wanted to ask actual members. Also, I get an 18% company discount through Verizon

Not a "little extra" --

If you're on a device payment plan, you have the option to either pay the installment or the entirety of the balance. Paying more than your installment is not an option.
