I'm assuming 99% of you Nexus owners had a previous Gingerbread phone. So my question is this: In your honest opinion, how much better and different is ICS over G-Bread? Froyo to Gingerbread wasn't a huge change, so I'm wondering if ICS is a huge improvement over Gingerbread.

Thanks in advance!

Ice from gingerbread is almost like having a completely different is, and for the better. The GUI has been reworked and feels familiar but there is a noticeable change. The OS itself feels very polished where is some aspects gingerbread felt chaotic.

Of course with the resound you have an HTC skin over gingerbread, and that adds some stuff that stock gingerbread doesn't have. Some like that and some don't. If you were to try vanilla android after using a skinned gingerbread you would probably notice that some features you have on the rezound are lacking on the nexus, but thats because of the sense UI. But between stock and stock, pics is WAY better.

gingerbread was crap. I was on froyo as well. Both crap. ICS made me look at android in a whole different way. Its such a nice OS. android is only getting better. The rom development for the nexus is amazing as well. There's tons of support for it.

I honestly don't see the big deal.

My Droid X ran fine on GB.
I miss the dedicated search button and the menu button (though with go launcher I have it back).
I do like being able to swipe away notifications from the drop down, but I hate that ICS tied the notification and ringer volumes together in one slider.

..and as always I have to state, ICS has a javascript issue.
