Question from a undecided and soon to be android owner.

I've been following the Fascinate and Droid X and I know that the Fascinate (unless it's a sleeper launch) won't be hitting stores soon(which is ticking me off a lot). And I also know the Droid X has a locked boot loader (but I doubt I'm going to make a custom rom for it). My couple of questions is can I still just write programs for the droid x with out any issues, and would it be worth to wait for the Fascinate?

X already been rooted, only a matter of time until you can do anything you want with it.

In the tests I've seen the X was the faster phone of the two. In my opinion the only thing going for the Galaxy is the AMOLED screen.

Sounds like good stuff, I just wanna good phone and one I can program for also. I might just get a droid X (mostly for programming, i like the android OS), over the Fascinate because even though they are pushing moto phones it's making so I either will jump ship to t moble or just get a moto phone.

I would wait man, its only rumored for the phone not to be pushed out soon. I believe it will come out when the D2 comes out. Kinda of like how the eris came out with the D1. I honestly like the Samsung phone over the DX. The samsung out performs in every catagory except database I/O. And if your going to be programming your going to want to have a custom rom, there is more to play around with. You will get bored of just having root I promise. Plus the samsung has the best graphics card and screen I have ever seen.

I disagree, I don't think anyone is going to crack moto's encryption anytime soon.

Just look at the moto milestone (uses same encryption scheme), its been out for 6+ months and nobody has cracked that yet.

I think moto has it locked sufficiently that we won't see custom roms on the DX
