question on JUST flashing new radio

Well Im glad I know that now! Thanks though

Btw I thought I would mention that after flashing the new CMDA and old LTE radio, my battery life has literally Doubled!

Hey all, great stuff in this thread btw! Im not quite a n00b although this is basically an elementary question. I have seen lots of people posting different orders in which they flash their radios/roms, even people who say you should wipe cache/dalvik etc multiple times before installing new roms. My question is, what are everyones thoughts on which order to install? I myself wipe/factory reset, wipe cache/dalvik, install radio, then install rom. For the most part my froyo roms/radios seem to work fine, but I am now in the gingerbread realm and things are kinda crazy. I have a glimpse into gingerbread and its hard for me to want to go back to froyo! Thanks to all in advance, and thanks again for being so thorough with your knowledge.

From what I have gleaned from reading, since you want to make sure that you delete all of the remnants of the previous ROM (especially when going to GB). You probabaly want to the wipe cache/dalvik a few times.

In regard to your order of actions.
I have seen: Factory wipe-->Wipe cache/dalvik(few times)-->Install ROM-->install radio

I am not expert by any means, but I think the radio part can be done after you flash your ROM.

I usually just use Astro File Manager on the phone itself to check. Long press on the file and hit details and it'll show the md5. If it's a large file like a full RUU, it could take like 15-30sec.
