Question on receiving text pictures

When someone sends me a picture via text, it comes in on my phone as a slideshow. When I look at it, I cant save it, enlarge it, and it goes off after a few seconds. Any idea why they are coming in as a slide show?

it's a default setting in HTC phone messaging app & it can't be changed/disabled.

it's being addressed in the upcoming update (no one knows when that is)
it's also rumored to be packaged in the update with the fix for the camcorder issue (very low audio volume due to the noise cancelling mic)

one fix is to download another SMS service app like GoSMS or Handcent, neither of which have this problem.

That issue is on the DroidX and Droid2 as well...not sure but it appears to just be an Android thing.

Really? I thought it was a Sense thing. A friend has the HTC Eris and all pics were slideshow. However the OG Droid didn't force slideshow. OG Droid had OS 2.2.2 when I gave it up. So it can't just be an Android thing.
