Question when installing games. Google play games app.

I downloaded a game and when it loaded i was asked to download google play games and that the game requires it now do you have to use google play games or no?

Your game might require your Google account, meaning it will get attached to your Google ID so you can play on multiple android devices. Thats why you will have to download google play games in order to play your game.
