Questions About My 6GB Data Plan

I'm on Rogers in Canada. I got an iPhone 3g back in 2008. In 2009 when the 3gs came out Rogers released their infamous 6GB data plan for $30. It was supposed to be for new 3gs customers, but I called and asked if I could have it, and I guess they were generous enough to upgrade me from my 2GB $30 plan to the 6GB one. I upgraded to the iPhone 4 in 2010 and kept the 6GB plan. I love having it because I have never gone over it, and never come close to going over it. It's a non-worry essentially for me. I average about 2-2.5GB per month.

I'm thinking of doing an early hardware upgrade to the HTC One X next week possibly, and I'm just wondering if I can carry that 6GB data plan over with it?

Yes you can. I did an early upgrade from an iPhone 3gs to my EVO 3d and kept it. There should not be a problem. I am with!Rogers also.

How early was your hardware upgrade? How many months did you have left in your contract? Currently I'm sitting with 14 months left, but my iPhone 4 has an issue, and I think it'll cost the same to purchase a refurb iPhone 4 from Apple as it would to do the hardware upgrade now.

I did my upgrade with about 16 months left on a 3 year contract. 1 always change phones after 2 years when I am allowed to. I just resign a new 3 year contract.

How much did you have to pay for the upgrade? I talked to Rogers and they said it was going to be $20 a month for each month remaining on my contract plus the cost of the new phone. They said it would cost me $280 to upgrade early. But they also offered me $100 off the upgrade fee. I think I might just wait a little bit longer before upgrading, maybe until there's about 12 months left on my contract.

I paid $10.00 per month on the remaining contract and whatever the price of the phone on their website.
