I've been buying Samsung for about 15 years now and I'm getting burned out by the bad CS and disappearing features. I've been reading this forum and am thinking about trying the OnePlus 13.

The one big thing I really like about Samsung is Smart Switch. It makes moving between phones super easy and that's a big thing for me. Also, I read that the 13 is now a flat screen, I was never a fan of that and don't want to go back.

Right now my daily is an S25 Ultra which is a nice enough phone. But I just got rid of my Watch Ultra this morning replace by a Garmin Venu 3. The Ultra was a mess of bad data. So, I'm no longer pinned to Samsung by a watch.

I have a bunch of phones for potential trade, iPhone 14 Pro Max, S24 plus, Pixel 9 Pro, and a Pixel 9 Pro XL. I would keep my S25U as a backup.

So curved screen or no? Bigger question, backup and restore options (especially to a new phone)? What are they, is there anything like Smart Switch for the Oneplus 13?

I didn't use any backup other than my Google backup, I transferred my stuff over from the Google pixel 9 XL to the OnePlus 13, OnePlus has a transfer app called Clone phone but I'm not familiar. I also use Sms Backup Pro for all my call and text restores across all my Android devices I love the feel in hand of this phone and it's low key going to be up there for phone of the year IMO

Does OnePlus 13 have anything like Samsung Pass to help remember passwords?

Backup with Google One and Sms backup and restore , i had no issues getting all my data from Samsung.

Virtually all modern flagships have a solid routine available for restoring everything from your old phone to a new one. I have done it with good success. However, I usually setup a new phone from scratch. Yes it might take a little longer but it is cleaner, especially when going from one brand to another. There are those who after restoring from a backup to a new phone find themselves having strange, undocumented bugs that have no resolution other than a factory reset and a rebuild from scratch! So... YMMV in this regard.
As for the screen it is flat, but not flat all the way to the edges like some phones. All four screen edges have a 2.5 degree curve. So for the most part it is flat. I hate "curved" screens but this one does not feel curved at all.
