Questions about the value of Moto X 2014

I've been meaning to ask a similar question. I basically just want to know if it's worth upgrading to this from the Moto X 2013. The new phones are just too big and this is an acceptable size but if it's not much of an upgrade from the 2013 then it's probably not worth it for me.

I never owned the 2013 model, but from what I understand it is a suitable upgrade. Not huge, mind you, but if you need a new phone it's probably your best bet if you're looking to keep costs down.

As for the OP's quuestions...

1. Absolutely.
2. Fair to middlin'. You'll get through a day with light to moderate use, but if you're a heavy user keep a charger handy. Thankfully it charges quickly (and supports turbo charging, if you want to pick a compatible charger up).
3. Nope.

I returned my nexus 5x to keep my Moto X. I've been exclusively nexus before this device, now I'm finding it very hard to go back. This is a quality device. Build quality is fantastic. It's leaps and bounds more solid than the 5x. And it's the perfect size imo. Awesome screen to body ratio. Dimensions are just right.

I get better than average battery life. 4.5-5 hr SOT. Pure edition 32gb.

And YES, burn in does and will occour. Every one I've seen has had it to some degree. Honestly, it doesn't bother me. It's the softkeys, and a solid bar where the notification shade is. I use color inversion to combat it and it helps. But it happens. Don't let anyone kid you.

How did you find LTE performance of Nexus 5X vs Moto X? I stay in rural area from time to time and my Moto X 2013 is struggling to stay connected. Wife's iPhone 6 performs consistently better.

My Moto X gets the strongest cellular/data signal.of any device I've owned recently. It crushed my nexus 4 that it replaced. The 5x was comparable I didn't notice either device outshining one another. Very similar performance.

Thanks for confirming it. I picked up a 32Gb 5X on sale yesterday. Waiting to see if 32Gb version of Moto X 2014 is going on sale on Monday or not. Gonna pick it up regardless. Once I have both 5X and X 32Gb at the same price point I'm just gonna see which one works better reception wise first, functionality second and overall build quality third.
