Im thinking about converting my stock TMO M8 to a GPE version. I have a couple of questions.

1. Can someone who has done this confirm that TMO AWS band 4 1700/2100mhz still works after the GPE conversion?

2. How does the audio sound after the conversion? Is it still good? Any lower? Quality still good?

3. Officially is it up to 5.1.1 now? Id like to skip the issues with 5.0.1 and 5.0.2 if i can. I did a GPE conversion last week on an ATT unit and it had an update for 5.1 waiting a day or two afterwards.

4. My TMO M8 on 4.4.4 ran beautifully. NO issues and great battery life. Now with 5.0.x it has bad battery life. I have hard reset it twice and still not happy with it. This is why im considering the GPe conversion.
Should i just wait for 5.1.1 to come to our stock TMO M8 units and NOT do the conversion to GPe? I dont have an issue with stock just not happy with battery life.

Looking forward to users experiences and input with this matter.

FYI, i have a Note 3 that is working great and is my daily use phone now,so i can use that till 5.1.1 comes to the M8 if need-be. But i miss my M8.

Im not on TMO or ATT but your device is the exact same phone as the ATT version so it will be the same as the ATT one you just did. Which you know once you are s-off you change your CID and maybe the MID, flash the GPE RUU and Bingo..lol. The sound shouldn't change but the camera software isn't the same and you may lose some of the functions, but then again i think i read over at XDA that someone has the sense camera software working on GPE. I would ask around on XDA with your concerns here..[RUU] M8 Google Edition Conversion. 5.1 LMY4… | HTC One (M8) | XDA Forums

I just made the conversion and am downloading all my apps.
I though, well if i brick it or dont like anything ill get a M9 to replace it.

Right off the bat when my device was updating apps and installing apps HTC Dot View had an update and HTC Service Pack did as well.
My guess is thats because i had them installed on my device while it was stock TMO.
But it did accept the installs of both now that its a GPe unit.

Ive done the conversion so now i can answer my own questions. Just in case someone else wants to know.

1. Yes a TMO branded M8 converted to a GPE unit does retain AWS Band 4 1700/2100mhz capabilities.

2. Yes it does still sound great. No loss of audio that i can tell.

3. My unit is on 5.1 build LMY470.H4

4. Maybe ill come back to that in a week or two.
