First off, thanks to everyone for sharing your advice. I just got my Hero on SAT, and you have already answered many of my questions. I have searched the from and still had a few questions that I was wondering if anyone could help answer:

1. Battery Life:

I read a whole bunch about how the stock SMS app drained the battery. Although I downloaded the firmware update on SAT, I got about 10 hours of fairly heavy use yesterday expoloring the phone, sending email, posting on FB, etc. My awake time is kind of high (in the 90s), and when I used Task-killer (which I read was a much needed app from an article I found online), my available memory runs anywhere from as low as 28MB to max 60MB. Is this normal?

2. Bluetooth:

My wife (who also has the Hero) and I have not been able to get our Plantroics BT devices to work with the Hero. I did search the forum and saw many other issues with BT that have not been resolved. Is anyone else still having trouble with BT?

3. Charging the battery:

I ran my phone down to 15 percent battery, and plugged it in to charge at 4:45 yesterday afternoon. When I went to bed at 11 PM, it was still only 80 percent charged. Is this normal? I come from a Palm 755P and that phone seemed to charge up from next to nothing with about 2-3 hours.

Thanks in advance for your assistance.

1: The battery life is much better after update but if you need more time, i turn off 3g, i use a 3g switch button from the app store, makes the change allot faster when im trying to surf the net, dont really notice it otherwise, and yes its normal, the hero has its own task killer that isnt all the best but it should cause your problems accept the browser doesnt close.

2: Bluetooth Still has a few kinks it seems, the memory issues has suposedly ben resolved. BT is a hit or miss witih this phone

3: Im guessing you were using the usb plugged into the computer, thats a fulltime trickle charge, it makes the battery last longer but changes way longer. Use the wall plugin for a quicker charge (about 2.5 hours)

Thanks for the advice.

I was going to keep syncing this phone with Outlook, but the HTC sync program also seems hit or miss. I may just use the Google contact and calendar sync (I have Outlook synced with Google Calendar anyway). That way if I ever have to do a hard reset and don;t have my PC/laptop, I will still be in business. That will also free up the charger for wall use, and I'll have one less cable on/around my desk for the PC.

I also messed around with the clock and weather widgets on the home page. These also seem to be battery killers. I replaced them with different widgets and battery life seems a little better. Hopefully with time and more OS updates, battery life will be as good as I got on my Treo.
