Questions -- New User (Navigation) Droid 2

Hi all...
I am a new user to Droid 2. I haven't had very long and I have a lot of questions --

Someone told me today that there is a Free App that is for navigation that I can locate my childs phone at anytime? She said that you have to text their phone and do something?? Anyone know about this?

Also is there another Alarm clock that is louder. I have all my volumes set to max with the alarm clock thats on it and it can barely be heard???

Need some cool apps to help make things go smoother --

Ive heard of some basics I need like google voice search bar??

Any help would be great -- this is my first 3G phone so I am new to it ALL
