Questions regarding moving from S3 to N2

So I'm thinking of moving from the G3 to the N2 and I have two simple questions;

1. I use the preinstalled notepad. Does it sync so that when I start up the N2 everything is there or is everything lost?

2. I also use the preinstalled calander. I know the Google calander would sync but I didn't like the look of it. So same thing as above, does the preinstalled Samsung calander sync or is everything lost?
