Quick Charger for m9

So I have a Verizon m9 and from what I understand the charge that comes with the phone is not a quick charger - is that correct? I am upgrading from the DNA and my phone charges at least twice as fast as my old one did but I'm wondering if that's just bc of technological upgrades since the DNA came out. On the HTC website you can buy a quick charger for $35. My local Verizon store sells something they call a quick charger for $30. Does anyone recommend a specific brand of quick charger or should I just go with the HTC charger off their website? Also, has anyone used the quick charger with their m9 and is the charging speed really that much faster?

Any and all help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks

There are some pretty decent ones on Amazon that are cheaper. Check those out first.

I'm researching them as well. I would definitely only buy Qualcomm certified ones.

I came close to buying that one on shopandroid yesterday. I'm still waiting for more certified battery backs to come out. I'm ok with the speed of charging at home, but if I'm in a pinch when I'm out and about, I'd love a quick charge battery pack.
There are some Qualcomm certified ones on Amazon that are under $20. Haven't seen any of the battery packs, though. I'd definitely be interested in one of those.

I found a certified battery pack that's on Incipio's site, but it isn't available yet. Also there was one I found in an article on this site, but it's listed as currently unavailable on Amazon. There are a lot of "rapid" or "fast" charging battery packs, but I haven't found many Qualcomm certified ones yet.

Considering the cost of this phone and miniscule improvement over the M8 (i.e. HTC are pocketing the savings), why wasn't a quick charger included in the box? Why can Samsung provide one and HTC can't. It's a key feature but is unavailable to most users - many of whom will be casual clueless users who won't know any better.

Poor show all round htc

Well, the battery does last all day, so I never need a quick charge.

I could take the flip side of that and say Samsung had such little faith in the battery life that they included the fast charger as some peace offering whereas HTC was confident the phone would last all day and it is a nice to have and not a necessity like Samsung. That and HTC is run by bean counters who want to save every nickel for the bottom line. Truth may be somewhere in between the seat cushions with the loose change.

Is it the cable or the brick that has the quick charge technology? Just curious if you need to buy the cable and brick or just the brick.

That doesn't even make any sense. An advertised feature doesn't work out the box and you say it's because of confidence? Samsung offer MORE by including an appropriate charger, yet you seem to think this is less?

Your post has some kind of twisted logic (i.e. no logic). Seriously.

I've tried a Tartan Tech rapid charger and one by Ivoler (which is snapdragon certified), both from Amazon.
They do charge quicker than normal but when I pick up the phone I'm getting small electric shocks through the phones metal body. When using the Ivoler my phone went up to 41 degrees C, that's when I decided to unplug it. Don't think I'll be using quick charge anymore!
One good thing though; HTC are getting ready to release a software update thats supposed to improve battery life

I found this one on here and bought it using this $5 off promo code making it $10.99. Got it quickly and can't believe how fast it charges! Highly recommended!
Quick Charge 2.0 fast charger. $10.99 after applying coupon code: LUMB8LHS

Amazon.com: [Qualcomm Certified] Aukey Quick Charge 2.0 18W USB Turbo Wall Charger Fast Charger (Included an 20AWG 3.3ft Micro USB Cable: Less Resistance, Faster Charging Speed) -Black: Cell Phones & Accessories

I have the quick charger from HTC and charges much faster my M9 than the regular. Worth it! VERY USEFUL when you have a busy day. I think double the speed of charging. Half time, even better

Agreed. Having the quick charger is really helpful if you don't have the time to site and wait for the device to reach a decent battery level.
