quick handcent question

So I just installed it. But I would like it as one of my home screens. When I add it to a homescreen just the icon shows up and not the actual texts like it did with the stock messaging. Help please.

Handcent doesn't have a widget to display your texts on the homescreen.

[edit]However I guess I should mention that the stock "Messages" widget will work with Handcent. When you tap the message, it'll ask you whether you wish to use Handcent or the stock messages app.

Second that! Super annoying. I stopped using Handcent because after I read the text the it would continue to show on the lock screen and in the notifications. I kept having to go back to the native text app to clear the message so I figured I might as well just use that one.

Just go to the native txt app and disable the notification in the setting so it will not notify you in that app.

Then I don't get any text notification. It is a double edged sword I guess.

You should be able to configure the settings in handcent so you'll get the notification there even if you've turned off notifications in the native text program.

I did this and it works well.
