Quieting the "Pings"

I've figured out many of the more important bells and whistles of my new sIII (operating on Verizon via Total Access) but one thing is driving my wife crazy and is starting to bug me as well.

I've played with different ring tones and learned about haptic vibrations. One thing I can't find, however, is the brief "ping" tone that I get everytime a new email comes in. How do I quiet this?

Open your email app, tap Menu>Settings, select the email account in question, and look for the notification options. You can set the notification tone to Silent/None, or turn off notifications altogether.
