Meh... I hardly ever use Siri or Google Now. I think Cortana is better anyway.

Here's the thing.
Is Bixby even that good to warrant its own dedicated button (that's now unmappable)?
Google Assistant is nice but I only use it to check the weather and create reminders. I haven't really fluffed much with AI-based assistants because they all have a ways to go before I find them truly useful without feeling awkward while using them. From what I've seen with Bixby, it doesn't seem to have that one killer feature that would make me go "Yes, I want this!". Maybe that might change when I give it a go, but as it stands right now, I'm not entirely convinced that Bixby is worth having its own dedicated button.
That's just my own 2 cents, though.
samsung usually listens to its users. i bet an update will come that will allow the button to be remaped.
I don't think so since they specifically pushed an update to block it from being remapped.
I personally have disabled it and any feature related to bixby through package DisablerI don't cry about it. It's a hassle if you don't want to use it. It's being forced on me and there is no way to turn it off. If the option to turn it off will not be made available, S8 will be my last samsung phone. For rhe price I paid for the phone i should get to decide what features I want to use. See? Not complicated at all. Samsung forgets we do have other options. Just my $0.02
That's no good. I never really used the "OK Google" feature, but it's pretty bad if they've removed it completely!
Any word on whether or not the touchscreen home button can be long pressed to activate Assistant?
Actually Samsung is attempting to force me to use bixby by having the button there were I can press it about 5 times a day by mistake. And no I don't like that button right there or use bixby at all.
I was tired of hitting the bixby button by mistake so I simply used Package Disabler to disable Bixby. Because I was always hitting that button by mistake, I just left the button deactivated with nothing else assigned to it. There are options.
