My Phone which has only had the clean tool run on it will not boot. If i hook it up to the PC it finds it but i see nothing on the screen.. please help.

It's booting now.. that scared me it like locked up (first time ever) going to see what the battery life says
but i'm almost sure i had over 50% left

Ok the battery life said 6% which is pretty wierd as I have a spare cable at work it was plugged into but for some reason the voltage wasn't enough. Using the plug instead of the usb port

Just in case someone else runs into the same could you post symptoms(what you were doing, what came up / didn't come up etc). Hopefully you'll save someone else from a heart attack.

I'd just like to remind all the newbs/paranoid people out there that it is very rare to accidentally brick your phone. In fact, you almost have to intentionally try to brick it in order for it to happen.
Just to repeat what's been repeated before; when delving into the innards of your phone, follow directions by guide authors/devs (don't stray!) and don't experiment with processes you're unfamiliar with.
If in doubt, ask first.

I can describe what the OP is talking about, as it happened to me. If you run CleanTool while HTC Sync is active, your phone will shut down and will not boot until you do a battery pull. Remember what scrosler writes at the top of it and kill HTC Sync.

Sure but I wasn't really doing anything. Oh wait i was updating 2 programs over 4g hehe i bet you that ate some battery fast.

My phone was sitting there with the phone plugged into a USB port on my monitor which i have done a few time before without issue. I have never installed the drivers for the phone though as I'm at work.

When i picked up the phone and pressed the button to turn on nothing... I pulled the battery thinking it was locked.

Then I decided to plug it in waited about 2-3 mins and hit the power button and it came to life. once it fully booted it gave an error of (hmm can reproduce error message ) it said something about voltage or amperage. it was sitting at 6%

For future reference as well, while the phone can charge via USB, it either takes forever if you're not touching the phone, or will not charge at all when you're using the phone. The amperage going through the USB port is really not that much.

Normally I don't charge my phone via USB but I wanted to test and see if it could do it well enough. My old phone did it like a champ. but was not LTE

Seriously. I plug it in at work on my computer and it takes 2 hours for it to charge 18% (!!!!!!!)
And if I'm using it as it charges? Forget it. It freezes at whatever charge it's at currently.
/usb rant.

At least you're lucky enough to be allowed to use the USB ports at work...I work in IT and I can't even charge via USB. So I have a mountain of Micro-USB chargers everywhere..

From my Pre Plus days We (wife and I) have 2 chargers in each car, 2 at home (oops more like 6 forgot the touchpads) 1 at work. One in my lunch bag for when i have to go on calls

Did they give you some "security" mumbo jumbo? My old supervisor gave me that story about "security risk" this and "security" that. I disregarded all of it. I took his job when he retired. So what you can gather from this, is that breaking rules at work tends to pay off (probably not.)

lol on my old Droid X I actually used to keep copies of the installation files for a few anti-malware, anti-virus, and other helpful tools on my SD card. I don't even work in a tech support job, I just have many computer inept friends who like clicking shiny things.

Haha....the funny thing is I write the policies...so I have to policy myself out of being able to use my own friggin PC.

Meh I figure I own the company so if I screw up the network there is no one to blame but myself

Ha! Wow. Well, at least there's no one to blame but yourself, I guess.
It won't hurt to break the rules just a few times, though.
