Radio Question

I am just wondering if there is a way to improve my signal strength by using a different radio and if i can do i have to root my phone to do it? I am on verizons stock ics and i get a signal of 1x=-95dBm from my desk and it fluctuates between that and no data signal at all. Any info is helpful. Thanks.

You can try flashing the 215 leak. Tons of users have reported better signal and battery with it. I'm not sure that you can flash only a radio due to the locked bootloader, but I may be mistaken.
