Hey everyone,
RadioShack will begin their pre-orders of the HTC Evo on Friday, May 14th.
The store will require a $50 non-refundable deposit, which is put on a giftcard. So if you, for some awkward 3rd-worldly reason, decide to change your mind about the purchase after ordering, you can use the giftcard for other RadioShack products.
Also, if one pre-orders the Evo from RadioShack, you will receive $20 towards any accessories for the phone, which I think is a great deal.
The Evo will be available to new customers, 2-year upgrade customers and 1-year upgrade PREMIER customers for $199.99. No mail-in rebate.
This information is already known, but I will post it anyway:
The HTC Evo will be activated only through Everything Data Plans starting at $69.99 or above, plus $10. These $10 are DEVICE SPECIFIC and must be paid for having an HTC Evo. If there is only one Evo on a family account, the entire account must switch to a Family Share Everything Data plan which covers all lines, and starts at $129.99 (plus the $10 for each Evo)
The mobile hotspot feature can be activated on site and will be an extra $29.99 per month per Evo.
I don't know yet whether or not RadioShack will carry the respective accessories, such as the Dock, HDMI cable, etc. But they, as always, should have cases, car chargers, and screen protectors.
