Are any of you guys having memory issues still? I've factory reset my phone and the phone uses around 1.5 gb ram. My lock screen delays with coming on and apps run slow, anyone figure anything out for this yet? About to trade this phone in for a nexus or an iPhone if I can't fix this

Its normal... unless you are experiencing major slowdowns then dont bother with what the Ram says.

Exactly - all modern operating systems, including Android which is Linux, manage their memory, using it to best effect, and freeing it up when needed for something more critical. This is why you don't need an app killer to stop unused apps and free up memory. Certainly it is possible, though very unlikely, to have so many things running and not enough memory that the memory management process thrashes.

Well I mean my phone lags up pretty hard when I'm doing my day to day stuff, even going from one home screen to the next or scrolling my app drawer

I did stop using it a few months ago, and it did help drastically

Freeing up more memory manually or with an app killer will not make an appreciable difference in eliminating lag. Are you using the stock Samsung TouchWiz launcher? If so, may want to try one like Nova Prime. Another alternative is to disable some of the features you don't use, such as Smart Stay and Smart Scroll.

That seems to have done the trick, smooth transitions from page to page and my apps aren't lagging

What specifically did you do - new launcher or disable features? Also, may want to give it some time before you decide if you've really solved it. Many problems are intermittent.

I disabled most Samsung apps and downloaded nova so hopefully this fixed my issue
