Android reports less memory usage than Samsung device care. Curious if one is more accurate than the other.

The Android memory reporting can be found in developer options which needs to be enabled before it can be accessed.

If u click into memory on device care it says 1.7 gb reserved. Dont know if that has something to do with it

Thanks Peter, I did click in there and I have 5.1 GB memory available. I don't think that the reserved is factored into the 9gb used as the total of used plus unused is 14gb instead of 16GB. I'm just using way more ram than I expected if I believe the Samsung device care number.

I did a fresh install so it's likely from all the apps I've been manually installing and configuring. Just wanted to point it out as there is a 2+ gb reporting difference. It may not be a bad thing that the phone tries to use any available RAM.

Yes in the beginning it will use a lot of ram. As the phone learn your habits it'll start putting certain apps to sleep rather than have them running in the background. U can also put apps u dont use to sleep yourself they wont run in the background at all.
