Random contacts merged, how can I get it back to the way it was?

Random contacts merged

Morning all, my G3 recently had random contacts merge some of their data

For example I had a work contact that only had their name and email merge with a friend. Now when I type in that friend's name it brings me to that work contact as all the info is under one. Friend's name was replaced as well, but typing in their name still brought me to that contact

Others had their names changed to an actual email address, name completely deleted and number merged with another so until they contacted me I couldn't contact them

No recent changes other then updating the Droid software but that happened several weeks prior. No other noticeable changes other then random app updates and the like

Not really sure how to get everything back to the way it was

If you select one of those merged contacts in the Contacts app and tap Menu, is there an option to Unmerge or Unjoin?

Not that I can tell, but wasn't a typical merging I've done of select contacts

It randomly merged the email address of a radio station to a friend contact, changing the little profile picture to the radio station and their name to that email address. No idea how this happened but did it to at least 10 - 20 contacts, possibly more

Was going to contact Google directly but didn't want to jump through hopes on their help site when there are such knowledgeable people here!
