Random ghost notifications

My phone is randomly vibrating and making the notification sound, but there are no new notifications. Not Facebook, not text message, not email, just random vibrations and sounds. What is causing this?

Mine too. Has since day one and I'm still not sure what it's doing.

Me and my friend both have this same issue with our phones.. Very odd indeed.

Yes same here, whenever it's locked and I pick it up to unlock it, it vibrates for some odd reason. Haven't figured it out yet.

Under Settings, Advanced Features, do you have Smart Alert turned on? Press that feature (as opposed to turning it on off) to see the description of what it does. I bet this is the issue.

Isn't that only supposed to vibrate if you have notifications though, the original poster says it happens with no notifications.

Yeah. I suppose so. It's my best guess nonetheless. The OP should maybe disable it for a week and see if it goes away.

I'm willing to bet it's Google Now when it updates your cards. Mine does the same and I get random vibrations with no other signs of notifications. Next time you get one open Google Now then click the little icon in the bottom right to show your 'Upcoming' cards and I bet it will say it has just updated.
