Random Nexus speculation

Based on nothing mind you. This was a completely random thought while listening to the AP podcast today. They were talking about Nexus/Pixel related things.

So the Pixel is a success. Assuming it continues to succeed, what would the odds be to bring back the Nexus line? And back to its roots. Wouldn't it make sense for Google not to abandon the mid-range market, given that it's growing? Again, assuming the Pixel continues to be a hit and assuming Google would expand its hardware efforts.

Random thought.

73:1 against with the Nexus flagships; 463:1 against for Nexus mid-rangers.

With the launch of the Pixel, and its subsequent success, I just can't see Google having any reason to bring the Nexus program back. It serves no purpose. If they want to have a mid-range phone, they can just as easily make a mid-ranged Pixel.
