Random Phone Lock/Unlock Screen

[Android Central Question]

I have a launch Google Pixel XL. Over the past month my phone will randomly lock and unlock the screen mid use. Say I'm texting and it will just lock the screen while I'm typing, and I will unlock it and it will relock and this back and forth happens until I get my way. Apps also relaunch if I plug in or unplug the charging cable, although that is a minor issue. I do not have the finger print scanner active. The only thing I can think of is to disable the screen lock but that doesn't seem like a good solution. Any thoughts?
