Random Phone Reboots...

Alright so i don't know what's all of a sudden causing my phone to do random reboots. I received a new email and then all of a sudden my phone decides it wants to reboot itself a few times. I have a feeling it's voodoo acting up on me, but i'm not 100%. If anyone else has experienced this or if it is in fact voodoo please let me know. Thanks.

Make a folder in the "Voodoo" folder named "disable_lagfix" and reboot. That will disable Voodoo and key you see if that was the problem.

My Fascinate likes the 1000 kernel but was very unstable with any of the other Voodoo kernels.

I just used the stable voodoo kernel that was in rom manager, which i was told just had the lag/color fixes and the BLN. I also have JT's 1200 kernel too but i haven't installed it because i was worried about issues.

So far its been about 30-35 min since it's done its random reboots. Does the "disable_lagfix" method completely get rid of the existing kernel so you could say get the non-voodoo kernel again? or would i have to do the complete uninstall method that's on the xda forums?

It's not necessarily Voodoo though that's the first thing people blame. PowerAMP was my culprit when I had random reboots a few days ago.

Any other recent changes on your phone?

Other than setPCU and AngryBirds no.

And it seems to do it anytime i get a notification now, i've gotten 2 text messages recently and both times after im done checking the text it randomly reboots itself again.

I did the "disable_lagfix" and it's still doing it anytime i get a notification of any kind.

Any other ideas?

It might be the settings you have in SetCPU.

I have it set to 1000 max 100 min, and the kernel i have isn't OC'd to my knowledge.

If i wanted to try another voodoo kernel to see if the one im using is messing up do i just install it via CWM recovery or do i have to uninstall/disable the lagfix to flash the new kernel?

I'm using Dirrk's D02-LV1000 kernel now and it still reboots only when i get a text or email notification...i don't know what to try next.

Alright so i switched to the D02-1200SV kernel and changed my notification tone and it seems to work for now. If that doesn't work i'll do the full voodoo uninstall from xda. Thanks for all the advice guys. :-)

Good luck.. I was seeing some really strange stuff when certain notification tones were set to files that were there at one point, but no longer existed.

Thanks, yeah that was the problem I think, I tried using a tone that I accidentally deleted. So after changing to a new notification tone, it seems fine again.
