Random problems make Gear S2 inferior to Apple Watch

I don't have any problems with my Apple Watch

Owners would be outraged if our Apple Watches wouldn't show notification, double notification, this, and that. etc.

As much as I would like this watch, all the problems are turning me off.

Apple got it right.

Samsung could certainly use a little more of Apple's quality control in terms of apps and connections. The hardware and interface of the Gear S2 are arguably better than Apple's. And some things on the S2 have been rock solid for me, like S Health. But yeah, if someone's not locked into Android, I might see the point of an Apple.

Samsung is trying to do this by letting things be more open than Apple -- e.g., it works OK with all Android phones -- and hoping that things will improve over time. It worked for Windows on PCs, which started out rough, and now it rules the world. But for us current S2 owners I hope they work hard on improving the S2's OS and the apps.

So everything about the Apple Watch was perfect day one?
Initially the thing couldn't even run apps natively. That's a huge problem and it made many apps useless.

So get off your Apple high horse. If you're gonna cherry pick a few users that missed some notifications, I suggest you do a google search and realize you'll find similar complaints for every watch, Apple included.

And BTW, no, you wouldn't like this watch under any circumstances. You obviously have an iPhone. So there' s no point.
Glad you like your Apple Watch. Enjoy.

Without your phone your watch is just a watch. You can have access to 1,000's of apps, but once again without your phone doesn't mean nothing,. Even with a few hiccups here, I'm very happy with my watch to where I don't need my phone tethered to me constantly in order to make or receive calls. I guess when the Apple watch finally reaches that point, your can go tell everyone else that Apple invented it.

I had to chime in here being that I have both an Apple Watch and a Gear S2 3G.

First off, quality control. My Gear S2 has been flawless thus far as far as working right. Build quality is great. My Apple Watch. Lol. I am on my 4th one! All mechanical/electrical failures. It has been crazy! Maybe I have just been unlucky, but really.

Secondly, OS. The Tizen OS interface with the rotating bezel is by far much nicer and intuitive to use in comparison to Apple OS. Of course this is just my opinion, but I think many reviewers would agree. Then there are the apps. I will skip how abysmal the apps were on the Apple Watch with OS 1. Watch OS 2 did improve things there....a bit. I still have many apps that just load and load and load. The apps on my Samsung watch though work quite well. They load fairly quickly. It is still early on, but I expect apps to continue to grow and improve. Of course there are a lot more Apple Watch apps out there, and there always will be, but to be honest, apps on a watch are mostly useless. And then of course most take forever to load anyways on the Apple Watch so I might as well just pull out my phone.

Pricing: my Apple Watch SS with Milanese loop cost around 700$ and the gear S2 3G cost 300$. Hum.

I could go on, but I will leave it here. Of course this is just my experience, so take it for what it is worth.

I had the Zenwatch 1 for a few weeks. Sent it back and got the S2. I can say that Tizen is a better GUI than AW.

I've owned a LOT of Samsung stuff, I have an s2 3g. I'm not hating...

I'll just say this: buy Samsung for what it is now, not what you hope it will be. They don't really improve current devices, they just make you shell out for the next gen.

And yeah, the price is good, but at least with Apple, you know you can buy new straps, however ridiculous the price.

P.s. I base this on having owned: galaxy nexus, note 2, note 3, note 4, note 8.0, note 10.1, note 12.2, gear S, gear s2.
