Random Reboots

It seems like every day my Note will randomly reboot. It's only once a day and usually in the morning or late at night. Anyone else having this issue?

No, I'm not having this issue. It is usually a app causing it. Finding such app is the fun part. If it just started doing it, start thinking back to any apps you just installed, changed settings on, any settings you changed on the phone.

Haven't had any random restart issues on my Note8 either. Sorry to see you have this issue, though as it was stated, it's likely an app. Keep us updated!

I've had my N8 freeze up and reboot a few times. It happens at different times using different apps. Honestly can't tell if it's an app issue or OS issue, or possibly the phone may lose it's connection and has to reboot to find itself. It is annoying but for me it's only happened 3 times in the 3 months I've had it. Hopefully it won't get worse.

Yes, it started about 2 months ago. It got so bad that I finally just did a wipe. Seems fine, so far.

I have read that there is a setting in some Note 8 Variants that allows for restarting the phone on a regular basis. Verizon doesn't think that I am old enough to be able to handle that level of sophistication on my own, so they removed it from my device, but if you have another carrier's branded device, you may have the options. That said, if you do have the setting available to you, could it be set to restart your phone every morning? Just an idea.

I've been restarting my phone's for years on a semi daily basis. It is a really good tip for those who don't know the importance of doing so.

I also close out apps not in use vigilantly, practically obsessively. So RAM and restarts are not the cause of random reboots for me.

I honestly think it's a network connection related issue in my case. I recently owned an Essential phone and it rebooted randomly on it's own several times a day...and I did narrow it down to connection issues before I got rid of it.

If you've seen my other posts I've mentioned experiencing freezes a number of times when on charge or in standby mode.

Well... I can now post on this thread that I've now experienced my first random reboot.

At work, plugged my phone to charge and just by chance was glancing at my phone and it rebooted right before my eyes going into Samsung logo. then the AT&T chime back to the lock screen. Full reboot.

Disappointing.

I will add... the only significant change I did on my phone (and it was a few days ago coincidentally)...

I changed my display resolution from FHD+ (1080) to WQHD+ (1440).

I've been getting good battery life and streaming more often so I decided to kick up the resolution to see if I could see any difference. I honestly notice no difference in quality or battery drain. But... there were times streaming from apps like Youtube where video would freeze and audio continued and would get out of sync a few times.

Since I don't see any difference with my eyes, I guess I'll kick my resolution back down to 1080 in case any display conflicts with some app (like swiftkey for example)? Anyone else posting reboots or freezes had their resolutions on max by chance? Tried 1080 instead to see if made difference?
