Has anybody found a solution to the random restarts? My Nexus 6 is still doing them.

From what I have gathered it appears to be a kernel panic that is causing the restart. Folks have gotten around it by flashing an alternate kernel.

First... are you running stock? I know that on my 6, I had some reboots when I was running either the 5.0 or 5.0.1 stock ROM... I also saw some reboots on custom 5.0/5.0.1 stuff... a lot of the resets are kenel panics, but not necessarily caused by kernel issues (the Nexus 6 reboots might be have been caused by a bug in the storage system).

For what it is worth, I'm on a 5.0.2 custom ROM currently, and have yet to have an unexplained reboots... so they may have addressed the issue already.

I am running stock android. Its running 5.0.1. If it is a kernel issue, can it be fixed by an update? When I called Google they didn't say anything about knowing of the issue. The guy I spoke to acted as if I was the only person who had the problem and suggested that it was probably a hardware problem which I don't believe because of exactly what you just said.

Oh, companies say that ALLLL the time.... "Not aware of your particular issue" blah blah...

Unless there is something physically wrong with the hardware on these phones, then yes, I am sure that it can be fixed. Keep in mind that not only is the Nexus 6 a whole new phone, its also carrying with it the most significant software update for Android in quite a long time... lots of plates to keep spinning. They have the memory leak issue fixed from the looks of it, and I am guessing that this storage thing might actually already be addressed as well.

Its just a matter of getting it pushed downstream to everyone.

I stopped getting the random reboots maybe a week ago. I thought it was just isolated to the N6 but my N9 was getting them to. I did a factory reset on both.

Thread has been cleaned. Please keep discussion civil and on topic. Thanks.

I have these, and notice my phone has restarted because my watch setting connect to it. What should I try, clearing the caches?

So the factory reset helped, then? Have you gotten any random restarts? I get it once a day, unfortunately.
