Random setting changes and events on my S7

[AC Question]

For the last year (at least) I've been getting random events on my S7 Edge. i have been always current on Android version (currently 7.0). Events include:

change to "do not disturb" status
volume changes
wifi on/off
BT on/off
GPS on/off
Alarm active/inactive

and too many others to even remember. Sometimes it is a change in setting, sometimes an event, like some media from my library randomly starts playing. Screen often comes on by itself even though Ive set it to timeout. I've also had issues with my alarm not going off (that issue for now two phones and several Android versions and several alarm apps). I started putting my phone in my pocket facing out, and that did seem to reduce the frequency of random actions, but still I'm getting random changes in settings. Recently my phone decided to do a full factory reset (while I was traveling of course), so that really set me back. I do have a smart watch (Asus Zen 2) which I suspect might be the cause of some of this (?). Any suggestions welcome. I'm seriously considering an Apple phone and watch if i can't get this under control.
