Random shut down since Google Settings App showed up

The other day an app called "google settings" (green with white lettering) showed up and now my phone randoming shuts down then restarts. It also started being quirky when trying to just turn the screen on when it sleeps. I think the app is the problem but you cannot remove this google app.

In my case I had problems with random shutdowns too. or my screen stayed black or the screen just froze.
First i thought it was due to the buggy new update of facebook but i uninstalled it but the problems still occurred. it kept getting worse and worse. And after trying a few things i activated my sim security pin. To my astonishment my phone didnt show signs of random shutdowns anymore.

My Sprint S2 seems to have the same problem. Have you figured out a solution yet?

Now that you mention that, I've had
random reboots as well. It just happened again last night, and about every 3-4 days. Before that app, none. I've uninstalled numerous recent apps including the new FB app and that didn't seem to help. I'll be watching to see if anyone comes up with a fix.
