Hi all.
I've noticed a bug, that was not happening before the december 2024 update on my Pixel 7; the problem is that the top bar in the lock screen (where there is time, % of battery and icons of notifications) isn't showing anymore.
To make it appear again, I have to touch the screen and pulling up or down, and then it re-appears.

This problem occurs randomly, sometimes everytime, sometimes don't, even after restarting the device.

Safe mode disables all 3rd party applications if you can spend some time in it as u can still text and make calls to see if any 3rd party apps are responsible for this .

Like a safe mode in Windows. Ok, but how can I access it? I switched the command of the power button to start Gemini, and the procedure for starting the safe mode is power button+volume, right?

Also, if I can start the safe mode and the problem doesn't appear, how can I know which is the app that cause it?

So when you long press the power button on the screen will give an option to power off , long press the power off toggle until safe mode appears and tap to enter it , to exit out anytime just restart your phone .

While your in this mode see if it happens if not then most likely 3rd party app or application you download causing this and yes like windows safe mode

So, I've entered in safe mode and I tried to lock/unlock the device a lot of times and the problem didn't verified. Maybe the problem still occurs, but I cannot stand in "safe mode" all the day.

So if the problem is a 3rd party app, how can I understand which app is?
I've got a thing like 200 apps on my phone.

Also, after returning to "normal mode", the default browser switched to Chrome, all my widgets are gone... Thanks "safe mode" 😏

there is a battery percentage option (set it enable) in battery, settings, for time look for Lock Screen or Display settings and make sure the option to show the time on the lock screen is enabled.

Everything is set correctly, battery % and obviously showing time in lock screen.

The problem is very random, for example yesterday a tried to lock/unlock the device 20 times and everytime the top bar was not showing.

Today, for now I didn't have any problem.

You might be able to narrow down the culprit by seeing which apps have permission to "Display over other apps" in Settings>Apps>Special App Access. Is anything there "Allowed" besides core Google apps?

I'm not seeing this behavior yet on my Pixel 7 Pro, but then again, it hasn't updated to December yet. Did you get yours pushed over the air, or did you manually install it?

Also, you're definitely talking about the lockscreen and not a screensaver, right?

I've done the december update "over the air" like always, never had a problem.

And yeah, I'm talking about the lock screen, not a screensaver, when you tap the screen to wake up the phone.
