Rapid Charge Battery under 20,000mah that you can vouch for

I am heading back to Africa but I'm taking my Pixel 2 this time (for Project Fi). I need a reliable battery that rapid charges (USB PD?). I have done some searching and found a few but I would love to hear from someone who has and actually used one of these batteries.

I would normally just buy but the power in the places I travel is not always reliable so the battery needs to be. I thought I would call on the wisdom of the AC masses.

Another thing that complicates this is that I would prefer it be under 20,000mAh. I'm shooting for 10,000 because of the size/weight. I have a drawer full of the ones that don't rapid charge a Pixel 2 that I can use for my tablet, etc.

Thanks for your help!

I have a battery that fast charges a Mate 9
Another that fast charges a Note 8... and an S8...
Of course, now I need an entirely different one for the Pixel 2 :(:(:(

I've never used it, but I've used otgher Anker batteries, and they've always been good, so if you don't get any other recommendations you might want to consider their 20000PD, a 20,100 mAh pack that does Power Delivery. (It's not cheap, but I guess quality costs.)

Thanks. I have an older model of one of these and it is pretty big and heavy. Hoping to avoid that size. I can't believe all the mixed information on the web about this. I hope someone here can definitively say they have a 10-12000mAh pack that is rapid charging their Pixel.

I agree that Anker is makes great batteries.

The only ones you'll be looking at will be ones with USB-C supporting Power Delivery. Those are the only ones that will officially do rapid charging.

Just to round out this thread in case anyone else is looking. I bought this one with Power Delivery and it is charging rapidly. Good form factor, has every port. Also can charge through USB C so it's relatively quick on the recharge.

Was just about to buy that one this morning. Seems quite a good one.

In the end I bought this powerbank. It is 20,000 mAh and has PD and QC 3.0. it charges rapidly using the usb-c to usb-c cable that came with your phone. Is a nice size as well. https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/aw/d/B0...ag=hawk-future-21&ascsubtag=UUacUvbUpU6235338

I know I'm a little late to the game, but perhaps next time consider the solar powered battery packs for areas with sketchy power. This way you could charge the pack off the wall when available, but have solar panels as a backup to charge the pack.

Good point. I haven't looked at them lately but the few solar battery packs out there that I have seen charge very slowly. More of an emergency kind of thing. They also tend to be large. I think they would be ideal for backpacking because you could strap it to your pack and it would just charge as you hike.

I am actually more interested in reliable speed with this thread.

I don't know - have they come up with faster charging solar packs?
