Rapid charging issue

When I use the rapid charger, I will plug it in and the "rapid charging" at the bottom of the lock screen, and the lightening bolt on the battery will both cycle/flash every second or two, almost like it is connected then is not connected. If I power off and power on while plugged into the 18w charger, then it will keep the "rapid charging" solid like it should,.

Anyone else have this issue?

I had it for a couple of days on my 6P and nothing I did changed it. It went away eventually. Sorry not a Pixel experience.

Anyone else experiencing this issue? I am a first time converted iPhone user. I have 1 week left before my 14 day return window ends. So far this is the second issue I've had. If there is a fix, fantastic. If it's the charger, that's great too, I just don't want to pay $40 for a charger if that's not the issue and it's the phone. If I decide to get rid if it, I'm ok being out the $12 I spent on a case, but another $40 to roll the dice on a new charger is somewhat irritating.

I never see rapid charging on my screen, but I have had that flickering experience it seems... I am using my note 7 cable and charger, is this why?

im using the cable and charger that came with the pixel. One thing I just noticed. I can cause it to happen if I use the USB to USB type C cable they included with the pixel and then try to use the USB type C to USB type C they included with it.
