I got the Droid Razr as apart of the Amazon.com .01deal, but before I got it i search the forum on the battery life and most people was talking about how great their battery life was so I was like wow ok i will go for it. Had the phone for three days now and the battery is worse then any before it.The past two years I had The OG Droid, HTC Thunderbolt, Droid Bionic and now the Razr. Love the phone hate the battery.

You might want to ask around and see what kinda of setting people use. If you keep your 4g on all the time say goodbye to the battery it is just a battery killer. Also the Razr has Smart Actions on it I use it and I see a lot of people on here use it I set it to use my Wifi when at home and work and I can go 2 days on a charge I have the same setting on my Samsung Capitivate and I can make it just past lunch before I have to plug it in again so the Razr is far and above better on battery.

I had the bionic, they're about equal. Depends on what you're doing with it. I've been rather pleased with the battery life.

Like I've said before, the RAZR's battery on wifi is stellar. On 3g, I'm able to get anywhere from 6-9 hours depending on how I use the phone. On 4g, I can probably get about 5-6 hours max. I wouldn't compare the RAZR to the Thunderbolt; I previously had a Thunderbolt and that thing sucked as far as battery life is concerned. I was able to get 7-8 hours on a single charge and that was with the extended battery (double the mAh as the factory battery).

I agree, ask around and see how people are setting up their phones. See how they use smart actions to make the battery last as long as possible. Use wifi whenever possible, dim the screen to the minimum that you're comfortable with, lengthen the time between syncs for all your accounts.

Hope this helps.

I'm getting about 5-6 hours. Wifi at home and 3g everywhere else plus I'm using Smart actions also. I do a lot of texting, about 30 minutes of web surfing, maybe 10-20 emails a day listern to music on the way to work and back home so about 30 minutes of music.

When you're on cell data, it all really depends on how long your screen has been on. The screen is usually the highest battery user. Most of us around here are able to get 2-2.5 hours of screen time on one charge. On a regular day and while using cell data only (no wifi), what's your total screen time before you have to charge the phone again?

One thing I do is use beyond the standard smart actions is:

Battery Extender + Turn off backround sync with screen off
Then Screen On: turn on backround sync

That means I don't get mail notifications when my screen is off (not sure about text messages, I think those still work with the screen off.)

How did u get the .01 deal if u had several Verizon phones prior ?

I completely disagree. Coming from an HTC Incredible I can't believe how awesome the battery is, and I rarely use wifi (it's so slow).

I have smart actions enabled so that when my screen is off background sync is also turned off, 4g is still turned on. This past weekend I was able to go from 8AM to 10PM and still have ~30% battery left. That's amazing for me.

In a normal days use the battery only lasts me until noon, but that's two hours longer than the incredible used to last me (constant music streaming).

On a side note, I was able to break the 30Mbps mark on the speedtest.net app with 4g the other day. I had to do it three times just to make sure it wasn't a fluke. Puts my home 16Mbps xfinity connection to shame.

juicedefender ulftimate and the battery lasts 14-15 hours... min use at work with 4g on when screen is on and syncing every 30 min with screen off. wifi on at home with screen off and on, data off at home.

4g definitely destroys the battery... before juice defender baftery would completely drain in under 4 hours with min usage

That's what I assumed but just wanted to make sure that was the only way to get a deal. But the no unlimited data would blow b

I've only had 4G briefly when I had a T-Bolt for two weeks, but why anyone keeps LTE on when not needed is beyond me. Just get a widget and keep LTE off unless you are going to surf the net or download. Your phone will still do everything else just as good on 3G (emails, sms, etc) as it will on 4G.

I also use Juice Defender Ultimate and I configured the settings myself. Background sync is automatic every 30 minutes. The radios turn off completely (aside from 1X for calls and texts) when there is no data traffic on the phone for 30 seconds and the screen is off, and the radios only turn back on when I unlock the phone and any time the screen is unlocked and on. Also when wifi connects it shuts off the 3g/4g radio.

At the least I would say my battery does not drain barely AT ALL when the phone is just in my pocket and not being used. Even with good use throughout the day, having the radios shut off in the pocket and the 30 minute background data sync means I easily make it through the day (7AM off charger to 6PM off charger) with at least 60 or 70% battery left. I use this in combination with smart actions to dim the brightness off charger, and raise the brightness on the charger. Also I leave GPS on 24/7 and find it drains almost no battery.

I keep 4g on all the time, my battery was horrible, but since I stopped using face book account for contacts/images my battery is great
