It has indeed. 183.46.15 will block root and unlock exploits. I posted the FXZ and instructions in the usual places.

so lame. I'm not a big rooter but this phone is at the end of it's life cycle. 2 year contracts are ending with owners of this phone. Why are you locking people out of it? If anything older models should be set free to extend their life. oh wait that's exactly why they're doing this.. so you have to buy a new phone. Thanks Veri$$$$$$$$$$$$$$on

why not actually fix all of the kitkat problems? also most people have switched to hangouts for messaging right?

Installed the update on 9/9/14 and since then my phone gets really, really hot. I have had to turn it off the past two days. Is there help for this, or is my phone dying? I purchased it 2/14.
The first update, I think in March, changed it so my battery ran down in 12 hours instead of almost 48 hours. Since the 9/9 update, the battery life seems even shorter.

Same here, my battery life took a major hit after Kit Kat but it was tolerable after I did a factory reset. Now after this last update I too have noticed the heat and battery drain. I did the update on Saturday and today I'm at work and am down to 31% after just eight hours. The biggest user, as usual, is Android OS. I wonder if it's a good idea to update these older phones.

Like most, the KitKat update was not good for my battery life. It became tolerable after a factory reset, but no where close to what I had before. I did this latest update yesterday, and so far, it is no worse than it has been. Android OS is still the largest battery hog. I have not been having the trouble I did after initial KitKat update (HOT phone, crazy battery loss, crashing apps) I don't think there is any improvement, but at least it isn't any worse.

I really loved this phone pre-KitKat. I'm eligible for a new one as of yesterday and am really debating whether I want another Motorola phone or not. My original X was great and I loved my M for 1.5 years, but the sale of Motorola to Lenova along with the terrible KitKat update have me questioning...
