I currently use an HTC Rezound and am getting quite tired of poor battery life with this phone. I really like the HD RAZR Max, but wonder if you folks were in my shoes would you upgrade now or would you wait 2-3 months for the new phones to be announced at goole io, mobile world Congress, and etc?

Thanks for your thoughts

I'd wait for the Google io show. They're supposed to be working with Motorola to make the X phone. Rumored to have the maxx battery and what not. New technology also offers less battery sucking radios and processors unlike the first gen lte phones.

I am in the same position as you. I've been eligible to upgrade for a few months now. I just don't know if I can hold out much longer though because I am so tired of this stinky rezound battery!

I don't necessarily care about having the.latest and greatest, but I heard the camera should be better on this supposed moto x phone so that is what primarily has been keeping me from going out and getting the rmhd.

Even if announced, they will be 3-6 months away.
I just bought a Razr HD and sold my Razr Maxx about a month ago.
Since I have to pay full retail, I just buy and sell when I feel like it.
Given that I got the Razr HD last month knowing about a "Motorola X" sometime later this year, you know my answer. YMMV

If/When a quad core, etc... Motorla (Google) X gets introduced; as long as they price it like the Nexus 4. I'm in anyway.

I had a Rezound for about 4 months until it malfunctioned. It was a great phone during that time. I used the HTC extended battery for it and it had really good battery life from that. Yes it added a bit more thickness, but I found it fit better in my hand with the extended battery. That might be the temporary solution to get you through until the new phones come out. Should be cheap by now.

Just sayin:-)

The Maxx HD is a very good phone, but you're so close now to seeing a new wave of phones, you might wanna wait. There's going to be a wave of 5-inch-screen 1080p phones with very small bezels that won't have a much larger form factor than the Maxx HD. If any of them have good battery life, they might be great.

But remember, announced or introduced does not tell you when you can get it.
Anything that is announced will still need to go through FCC testing and certification along with carrier certification.
A phone announced today without those certifications in place is still six months away.

The rumored Motorola X is probably due in the summer along with other phones.
You have to decide if you need a phone now or can wait.

My biggest issue with my rezound (besides struggling to read the small font) is battery life. Getting an extended battery may help tied me over until the X phone comes out. Can someone recommend an extended battery and where to purchase it?

All I know is that I am pretty much sold on going to moto for my next phone bc of all I hear about battery life and signal strength and call quality.

Just so everyone knows, I pulled the trigger last night when I saw Best Buy selling the RAZR Maxx HD for $149.99. I can sell my Rezound package for more than this. Took this off the charger at 7:30 this morning and am still at 88 percent at 12:50. The Rezound would have been in the forties with minimal use. Battery life is huge to me and so far I find this new unit to be a blast to use. Got the Jellybean update right away last night as well. Now my only question is what kind of holster case to get. Generic leather with bare phone or Seidio surface combo......

Yea, if I wait for the "next big thing" I'll always be waiting. I ordered the Maxx HD yesterday from Costco for $100 and get a free Incipio case and navigation dock. I just have to wait for UPS now. I'll sell my old iPhone and get all my money back so I'll essentially be getting the phone for free.

RAZR MAXX HD is a proven commodity at or near the top of the heap right now. It is an amazing device with few flaws. You can't go wrong.

Ok. It is 11:47 and my battery is now at 16 percent. That is just shy of sixteen hours day one. Very pleased with my decision.

I use my Maxx HD for calls texting and some downloads...It lasted 2 days and when I plugged it in last night I was at 52%...I do turn off my phone at night though. I picked this phone up on Monday at Best Buy and love it!!!! Had a Bionic before and it sucked!!!

I came from a Droid X and I wasn't really excited about getting an upgrade as my DroidX while slow still worked. I can honestly say I love this phone!!! Very fast, long battery life and the screen is amazing. I have a iPhone for work and I hate it because it is whatever Apple thinks you need or want in a phone. I am very glad I didn't wait for something bigger and better. This phone suits me just fine and should for a long time to come.
