Motorola will replace your screen for $100. Covers external glass and internal lens. Other services offered:

Battery replacement $49
Out of warranty repair $149
physical damage $149

The reason I posted this is because just buying the screen alone on eBay is already $190. There are places that will repair the screen that cost over $200. I think $100 is very reasonable considering that the deductible alone on asurion is $100 already.

I had mine done by them. Like so many others, my screen cracked while charging overnight, but of course that's considered physical damage caused by me so no warranty. The $100 became $107 since they decided to add overnight return shipping charges. I got the phone back 5 days after they supposedly shipped it overnight. It's funny that they can accuse me of lying about the screen cracking, but when the Fedex tracking number proves they did not ship it when they said they did, they aren't lying.

You can file a claim with bbb and state ag. There is a chance that they may cover it as others have experienced similar problems.

Re: Motorola will replace damaged screen for $100

Wow. Those prices are very low really. Looks like Motorola is doing the right thing even if it is costing them some money in the process.

And, $7 for next day shipping back is well below their actual cost.

Nice work Moto!

Re: Motorola will replace damaged screen for $100

They fixed mine for $99, and didn't add anything for extra shipping. Came back as good as new. Much better deal than paying for insurance plus a deductible.

Re: Motorola will replace damaged screen for $100

Sent my Maxx to Motorola more than two weeks ago, they "recieved it" as they said, on the 15th, even though FedEx delivered it on the 11th and as of today the repair ticket is still "open". Two calls got many apologies, but no sign of where or when the phone will be returned (despite the 5 day turnaround promised). Getting really annoyed with them. The novelty of using my 5 year old LG VX8300 again is wearing out!

Re: Motorola will replace damaged screen for $100

Can you believe that I'm still waiting!!! Now it's for the " free " replacement Maxx HD that's been "being prepared for shipment" for the last five friggin' days!
Don't know whether to laugh or cry, as calls and chats just get me apologies, and no straight answers..Motorola is moving fast up to the number one spot on my **** list.

Other manufacturers may not really be better.

Got replacement HD Razr Maxx today out of the blue, no tracking number sent or anything. The nightmare is over!!!

Re: Motorola will replace damaged screen for $100

I started my RMA process to have my screen replaced yesterday (May 13). We'll see how smoothly this goes

Re: Motorola will replace damaged screen for $100

don't be surprised if you run into longer than average waits on repairs with Motorola right now. There are a bunch of threads on the Motorola support forums that are talking about phones taking as long as 6 weeks to be returned. There have been problems with lost phones as well. Motorola is making right by the customer, but it is very frustrating. This is just a word of warning.

They are also working very hard at getting the problems resolved so that they can get back to their normal turn around times. 5-7 days should be normal.

Re: Motorola will replace damaged screen for $100

I can see his already becoming a headache for me...

UPS delivered my phone last Thursday but as of today (tuesday) they have yet to even place any info on their website when I enter my RMA number.

I'll be giving them a call tomorrow morning

Re: Motorola will replace damaged screen for $100

I called on the 21st, they confirmed that they received my phone on the 16th. They finally updated my RMA ticket on their website (it claimed they received my phone the 21st...)

I got an email update today stating my phone was fixed and being shipped back to me.

I should have it monday...

EDIT: I received my phone yesterday (friday the 24th) and everything works great. They replaced my inner screen and the entire outer casing it looks like.

Much better deal than going through VZ's insurance company

What service category did you list the cracked screen under? When I select "Physical Damage" they tell me it's unable to be repaired even if I pay, and when I click "No" I can't find a reasonable category to list the repair type.

Re: Motorola will replace damaged screen for $100

I don't remember the option specifically and I can't seem to navigate back to the repair page to see the options again. I specifically remember an option for physically damaged repair for ~150 or an option for screen repair (don't remember the description) that cost roughly $100. I chose the 100 option and they gave me an RMA slip and I shipped my phone out to them.

I apologize for the vague info. I hope this helps.

Do you have an address that you sent it to? Mine is cracked and the screen is broken.

Re: Motorola will replace damaged screen for $100

$109 for me, includes shipping. They email you the FedEx label, and since I griped the price andcompared other repair options, they offered me a free set of $40 headphones or a $50 on the go, rechagable battery pack to charge my phone, and change my mind to use them. Best by far, as all the other diy products from amazon or eBay are all after market products from China, anyway. Great info, thanks.

Did you have the Motorola Droid MAXX XT1080 replaced for $109? If so, how? I clicked through the repair process at it told me $175. Also, how did you get the free stuff?
