Razr Maxx questions

Questions please if anyone knows:

1) When Razr is plugged into my PC laptop via USB cord, why isn't there a choice to simply charge only, as opposed to hard drive access?

2) My Launcher-X Pro app doesn't seem to work on the home page, whereas it worked fine on my Thunderbolt. Is it because the Razr homescreen has 5 icons on the bottom that appear to be permanent?

3) What are you guys using to charge or top off your Razr? I've heard of those portable rechargeable batteries you carry around to charge your phone if needed, similar to what iPhone users use. Is this practical or useful? I'm used to carrying multiple extended batteries for my Thunderbolt, but I know the Razr has a non-removable battery, which I need to deal with.

4) Face recognition security. Seems intriguing. Is anyone really using this with success?

The Charge Only option disappeared after the ICS update. Not sure why.

Facial recognition is neat and gimmicky, but not secure enough yet, because someone could unlock your phone with a picture of you. This is supposedly fixed in Jellybean, because it asks you to blink to demonstrate that you're a live human being.
