I've just upgraded from my Razr Maxx and I'm pretty disappointed this new version lacks the Smart Actions. In PLay store it's not available for this model. Assist is pretty useless. It only has three settings and they don't allow for any customization.

Smart Action 1 - Turn phone to vibrate during work day hours 9-6pm (mon-Fri), then automatically switch back to ring/sms notificatons.
"Assist meetings" is useless since my lotus notes calendar isn't recognized by my droid, only my google calendars. Whether or not I am in a meeting, I need my phone on vibrate only during the day (but only Monday - Friday). Started to look at other apps to handle this.
Light flow can silence the messaging, but you can't limit it to specific days of the week and it won't address someone calling and ringtones.

Smart Action 2 - Switch phone to silent at night with exceptions for certain people.
"Assist Sleep" seems to address this at night.

Smart Action 3 - Enable GPS when connected to Bluetooth and launch application "waze"
"Assist Driving "does nothing more than read text messages. No application launcher. Any recos for apps that do this?

I'd recommend NFC Task Launcher. I got it initially for using NFC tags, but it's grown to be a great tool for quickly setting up conditional changes. For instance, I have it turn Wifi off when I connect to Bluetooth in my car, then turn it back on when it disconnects. You can set up geo locations too. It is way easier to use than Tasker, but not as detailed.

I actually use NFC Task Launcher as it is much more user friendly than Llama. However, to get all the features in NFC Task Switcher, like Geo Locations, you must pay for the app. Llama is also a little wonky when you want to use Wifi locations instead of cell towers.

I miss smart actions as well and assist has even less functionality. Thanks for the tips! I'll give them a try.

There is a new app called mini tasker that looks like it has recipes you can download. It's also free. I haven't used it myself, but saw a post about it on lifehacker this morning.

I've also used llama, and it's a great app.

Mahalo (Thanks) for position on this. I just got the Droid Maxx (upgraded from Razr Maxx) and was very disappointed with no Smart Actions. I just downloaded the Mini Tasker, and so far looks great. I had IIama but it was interfering with my speakers (media) where I could never hear, even when volume was adjusted, so deleted that app
