Got my Razr a couple weeks ago... love it so far, I came from the original Moto Droid... my ?, is there a way to get the crappy bloatware that verizon or moto installed on the phone? Like that damn NFL app (I don't want it), that weather/news app, the verizon video app, slacker, ect.

You unfortunately would have to root it. That is one of the big reasons a lot of people went with the Galaxy Nexus.

Just rerooted nook and put cyan on it. I'm loving it but don't think like everyone else that I should have to root my phone to get rid of bloatware

Consider this:

1. You can now hide any uninstallable apps like the NFL app. I did. It stays out of the way and I forget it's there.

2. There is so much space on this phone, you'll likely never fill up the internal memory dedicated to app storage.

3. The dual core processor is already faster than most current apps require.

4. If you don't launch NLF app or any undesirable app, they will not use up CPU resources or drain the battery.

Thus, rooting is not necessary. You don't gain needed space by deleting bloat apps. The bloat can be hidden. The bloat won't interfere or drain battery. You won't even know it's there if you hide and ignore it. Plus, there's no additional benefit to further overclocking the CPU. CONCLUSIONS: The benefits of rooting do not outweigh the hassles and downsides. Perhaps rooting a Droid 1 gained benefits, but not a Razr. This is just my opinion.

Don't root your phone. It's a waste of time. Watch some Netflix and actually enjoy the phone. It's a great stock phone .... minus the mobile hotspot issue.

The Nexus almost got me with its ICS on paper but anyone that buys one and looks at it next to a Razr will be disappointed. You want me to pay what for thin plastic sandwiching a beautiful screen and puny camera with a buggy OS version.

As a developer rooting any device that you use for personal use is risky, opening your device up to hackers. The only phones that I ever root are the ones that I use for development... Even though I don't recommend the practice, Razr's are root-able now -- Google it. ICS is buggy and unstable and it is reflected in the online GN forums. Heck unlike promised the GN can't even recognize you.

Razr is the much better choice all around. The version of ICS that it gets will be more stable. No GN envy here...
