RCS not working on my S20+?

I just picked up a 20+ yesterday. According to my carrier website it should be all ready and work by default in the messages app but it is not. It worked fine on my note 10+(which is hopefully going in for repair). Not sure what I am missing since I shouldn't have to do anything for it to work.
It was confusing on my note because I had 2 different messages apps, but either way, I am using the one with the same interface as the note and there was only one on this phone. Checking about app doesn't say it's Google or Samsung or what. I am sending to my wife who also has RCS and always worked between us with the note.
Any help?

Is this a carrier-branded S20+, or an unlocked/international version? What's the model number in Settings>About Phone​?

It's a bell phone from my carrier in canada, model number sm-g986w. I also changed carriers to bell when I got the phone yesterday.

Yeah I've seen that. My settings are the same but I have a few other options. I think that was written for Android pie maybe? Either way I still haven't gotten the splash screen to opt in that they talk about. Maybe because I bought the phone late on a Friday? It unfortunately says there is no way to force it though so I guess I'll give it a few days and contact my carrier if it never initializes. Thanks.

Have you tried using the Google messages app?

Try resetting the app by clearing data, cache and force stop see if it will kick in RCS

Ok, I just tried that and got excited because it had some dialogue about chat when I re opened the app, but I'm still teal and using sms. I tired to set it to send only as chat but it still sent as sms. I downloaded google messages but it says it is not supported by my carrier in this device. From googling, apparently bell supports chat on samsung messages while others on google messages. Either way, still not working for me.

Yes, it's my wife I'm texting primarily and until my note 10+ crapped out we'd always been on RCS. Now with my new 20+ it's a no go. I will have to contact my carrier and will update this thread if things get resolved. Thanks for your help, all the time, in every thread I post in multiple different sections. lol

Just double check hers maybe disable by accident?
