I still have to try certain suggestions I have found to the RCS verify number problem but I'd like to know one thing. If the "Verify your number" button is pressed, does the verification process start all over again? Because I press it, it becomes greyed out, then I am able to press it again after some time even though it says "Status: setting up..." constantly regardless. I just want to know if I should be pressing that button whenever I can.

Another thing am I supposed to get an SMS from google after pressing that button. I never got one.

Welcome to Android Central! Which phone do you have, and how long have you noticed this? Sometimes it can take an hour or so for RCS to get activated.

Nope. You will see something like this though when texting with others that have RCS enabled .

I have Samsung Galaxy S24. This problem started 2 days ago after clearing Google Messages cache and data. I did that after I noticed a few of my texts were not being delivered. It has been setting up ever since. Whats the best thing to do from what you have seen?

Welcome to AC!
Try also going to settings>connections>mobile network>APN>upper right corner tap and reset then check if it's set-up if not wait 24hrs

I'll move this to our s24 Forum
Ok I did that. Do I have to keep pressing the verify number button, or will it keep setting up regardless?

I found the solution in my service provider (Bell) comnunity help forum.

I had to sign in to my Google account and make sure my phone wasn't set to auto verify. Within several seconds of turning auto-verification off, turning RCS off and on in Google Messages on my phone and I was connected.
Glad to hear that and thanks for posting your fix
