Re: Guess what, the Nexus 5 is cominnnggg!!!!!!!

I have had 4 Thunderbolts, 3 Rezounds and now the Razr. Every phone before my current Razr has been sent back to Verizon due to issues and a CLN replacement was issued from there.

Out of all the devices the Razr takes the cake as to having the worst battery life! I get 4 hours if I have the brightness at half / two-thirds, 4G on, GPS on, BlueTooth OFF, and no auto-updating widgets besides the clock. I can get around 6-8 if the brightness is 1/3 of the way up (any lower and the display looks green and the black splotches show) , 4G on, GPS off, BlueTooth OFF, and no updating widgets except the clock. If I want / need anything more I have to turn off the data when I'm not using it. I don't want it to last forever but 8-12 hours doesn't seem like THAT much to ask for, my Rezound could do it and even my Thunderbolt could do it; now I realize the Razr is a quarter of the thickness of both previously mentioned devices but STILL its sad that I am looking for a charger at least 2-3 times a day.

That is nasty. I have a gs2 and don't get amazing battery but have started turning everything off with the Go power control widget. I find data and GPS are the worst. I also use Easy battery saver which seems to help. Now I can definitely get through the day with moderate use.

Re: Guess what, the Nexus 5 is cominnnggg!!!!!!!

Yea it has been nasty dealing with Verizon. I don't get why they insist upon sending their CLN (Certified Like New) devices because they quite frankly SUCK! They say they go through a 100 point inspection but that is the biggest load of bull I have ever heard, I have gotten devices from them that are scratched, dinged, and broken which they then force me to send back my beautifully taken care of BRAND NEW phone that only has one or two problems! I want to send my current device back for the fact that I feel the battery to be faulty but if I have to listen to Verizon's tech support ONE more time I will FLIP! They are the stupidest bunch of people I have ever met (sorry if anyone reading this works as a tech support rep for Verizon but the ones I have had are dumber than a bunch of rocks)! One rep even had me to do FIVE factory resets to try and get my Rezound to work, IF IT DIDN'T WORK THE FIRST OR SECOND TIME IT FLIPPING ISN'T GONNA WORK THE 5TH TIME!

Hopefully the next nexus is a beast like the one being talked about and I can get out of Verizon's CLN devices and finally be able to get a phone that is brand new and if it has issues I can just flash / rom a different software to fix it! Let's just hope I don't physically break it and start the cycle of CLN devices all over again! lol

Nah, looks like it's just breathing hard....

Re: Guess what, the Nexus 5 is cominnnggg!!!!!!!

What I like to know is the percentage of people who are actually going to buy a Nexus. From the information found during the Samsung v. Apple lawsuit the Galaxy Nexus had poor sales. Google is going to really need to hit this next generation of Nexus phones out of the park or else the Samsung Galaxy line of phones will be the only Android phone to talk about in front of Apple fans.

I'm getting one if the specs are right. Basically I want the HTC One X with these extra features.

1. Smaller than a 5in screen
2. IPS screen like the HTC One X.
3. At least 32 mb on board
4. Removable 2100+ mha battery
5. SD card support

I think this is the perfect phone for most people.

Man, that screen will probably be great for playing games and movies in HD!

Re: Guess what, the Nexus 5 is cominnnggg!!!!!!!

The only reason the Galaxy S3 has been so successful is because its been the top phone (spec and software wise) in the US for the entire 6+ months it has been out. When the Galaxy Nexus was released it was covered up by the Droid Razr Lineup on Verizon, and the iPhone 4S on ATT, there was simply too much competition that offered better features (thinner design, better radios, etc). Then there was the marketing, Verizon put all their money on the Razr lineup never once making a commercial and airing it for the Galaxy Nexus (at least in my area), and even the Rezound. I have never even once seen an ad for the Galaxy Nexus while I still to this day see ads for the Razr lineup! Its hard to sell a device when most average users don't know it exists!

It has been the top phone hardware wise, but is not the top phone software wise--IMO.

Re: Re: Guess what, the Nexus 5 is cominnnggg!!!!!!!

IMO vzw doesn't have as much of an incentive to sell a nexus device because they can't fill it with their proprietary bloat and lock it down. I for one think this is a mistake, as most people find carrier bloat an annoyance rather than a benefit. Maybe a pipe dream here, but I just hope I'm able to buy a nexus unlocked through the play store and use it on vzw.

Re: Guess what, the Nexus 5 is cominnnggg!!!!!!!

I too wish we could buy them on the Play Store seeing as the Play Store has the GNexus at $350 with no contract while Verizon's version is over $650 with no contract! I honestly don't see how an LTE radio costs an extra $300 because thats about the only thing different between the two!

I've actually seen many GNex ads.

Re: Guess what, the Nexus 5 is cominnnggg!!!!!!!

The Nexus doesn't sell well because of GOOGLE. Nothing else. They don't market it at all. Also I'm sorry Verizon users but I hope you never see a Nexus again. Verizon is not the company to give a Nexus to. I left my unlimited data behind a few months ago to be able to also have the latest Nexus.

Probably a MUCH higher percentage this year, just for the fact that more of the general population now knows about the Nexus line because of the Nexus 7. I for one would have never thought of buying a Nexus phone and would have probably just gotten an S3 or maybe a Note 2, when my contract is up in a month. But thanks to my buying the Nexus 7 and realizing how awesome it is to have the latest version of android, there's a 90% chance that I will buy the next Nexus phone. Unless it doesn't live up to what I hope for.

I think that is a major thing Google has going for them this year. In my mind they are trying more to appeal to the average user, and get the android/nexus name out their. As shown by the fact that they not only had the Nexus 7 available on the play store, but in basically big every retail store out there on launch.

Definitely my perfect phone.

Re: Re: Guess what, the Nexus 5 is cominnnggg!!!!!!!

Definitely my perfect phone.

I just went to best buy tonight with my daughter to try and convince her that the iphone 5 isn't all that. Even after explaining things to her 20 times she still wants an iphone... Bangs head on table. I even played her that funny cartoon video from years ago on YouTube with the guy trying to sell the evo. She laughed then pretty much said the same thing. Dang Kool aid.

Anyway. I was playing with the HTC One X and sgs3. Both are truly awesome but the HTC was just so much nicer. The screen is amazing and after going from htc to a sgs2 I realized I miss sense.

Re: Guess what, the Nexus 5 is cominnnggg!!!!!!!

Is the HTC Nexus or Incredible X have exactly 5inch screen if it does how much bigger would it be than GS3 with a 4.8inch screen?

Re: Re: Guess what, the Nexus 5 is cominnnggg!!!!!!!

.2 inches.

Obviously but I guess I have to be more specific. How much bigger would the HTC Nexus 5 be compared to the dimensions of S3 or One X or LG Vu besides the screen size?
