Re-pairing w/phone

So for some reason the last few days my Gear S3 won't stay paired with my Note 8. It loses connectivity and I reconnect it on my phone. It reconnects just fine but will disconnect a short time later.

So how does one re-pair the watch to the phone? I'd rather not reset the watch but surely there's a way to break the pairing but I can't seem to find it in the Gear app.

Have you tried on your Note 8 going to settings -> Connections -> Bluetooth and unpairing the watch?
