Re-root....

I originally rooted with the Odin path when I first got the sgs3, but now there are several ways to go about it.

My question is, if you are already rooted can you root again with a different method?

What would be the sense? Thats like wiping before ya poop....lol(gotta love larry the cable guy)....but seriously, what would be the point? Unless u need to unroot for some reason then i dont see why you would.

I would assume he may be having some issues with the method he chose to root?

There were issues with the original system image that was used to root the phone in the beginning.. It contains traces of Sprint elements since it was ripped from the Sprint version.
There's a new system image based off of the stock Verizon system image called route66.. It involves wiping the phone though.
What I ended up doing with my phone since I was one of the early few who used the Sprint image was... I flashed back the factory stock image.. and then proceeded to root the phone again using route66 just as a precaution to make sure anything Sprint was removed.

If you are coming from stock or not having any issues it is not necessary to wipe data if going to root66.

If you are coming from stock or not having any issues it is not necessary to wipe data if going to root66.

If you are coming from stock... No wipe is required.. just root with root66.

If you are already rooted using invisibleks root method (the old version)... It is recommended to perform a factory reset just to be 100% sure that all Sprint traces are removed.. but if you want to chance it, you can skip the factory reset and hope for the best. I myself went an extra step and performed a factory reset AND flashed back to complete stock/unrooted before using root66.

Steps involved (skip step #4 if not already rooted)
1. Install USB drivers
2. Download ODIN v3.07
3. Backup your data
4. OPTIONAL: Do a factory reset (highly recommended if you have issues with your current ROM)
***WARNING: Step #4 will erase internal storage but not microSD card***
5. Download the above Proper Rooted Stock Image file and extract the tar file from inside it
6. Boot phone into ODIN mode
7. Flash the extracted tar file using ODIN v3.07

You should now have a like new condition stock image and rooted with all issues resolved.
