This is on a LG Aristo 4 + model LM-X320MA phone, Android version 9.
The volume control on the side of the phone was controlling music, games volume and so on. Some how the volume control is back on ringtone again. I don't know how the volume control buttons got off controlling the ringtone in the 1st place. Can someone please explain the what and how for the controls that change what the volume control, controls.

The volume control defaults to the channel that's currently active. If you're listening to music, it's the media volume control. If you're on a phone call, it's the phone call level. If you're not using audio, it should be the ringtone level. There's a volume control in Settings (I forget where in Android 9) that has all 4 audio channels, so you can set the one you want.
